1.    Wave Escaping from Alcatraz

My husband and I were driving between Boston and Providence and after a half hour of silence he suddenly blurted out “Wave Escaping from Alcatraz”. Makes sense somehow. (Original: 20” x 25”)

2.   Angry Seas

It was a stunning day as I boarded the ferry to Martha's Vineyard. But, I must have been fussing over the fact that I got off to a late start on Friday, hit traffic on the Bourne Bridge and ended up having to park 15 miles from Woods Hole in never-never land. Grrrr. (Original: 20” x 25”)

3.    Babbling Brook

This piece captures the imagination of a young girl (moi) and her summers hanging out at the local swimmin hole in Vermont. I felt oh so quiet and shy (really?) but under it all I was talkin' a mile a minute. (original 60” x 67”)

4.    Checking out the Bottom

All the years of sitting on top of the ocean has to be a drag. Day in and day out — feeling the movement of fish underneath, submarines breaking the surface, and dive boats sending folks to the bottom. I'd be curious too! (Original: 20” x 25”)

5.    Rainy Day in Chelsea

Such a tempting toy for a wave! And the rain provides just enough slickness to get a really good jump going off the rim. (Original: 20” x 25”)

6.    Wave Crossing the Road

So. I am driving on Rt 2 heading back to Boston after a day of wandering the back roads of western Massachusetts. I am behind an old VW bus weighted with about 20 layers of yellow paint. It is barely feeling the road, listing to one or the other side while it responds to its driver's attention span. Suddenly…oops! (Original: 20” x 25”)

7.    Waves in Captivity

These waves exchanged some excitement on the high seas for some creature comforts! I tried a number of times to image this concept, starting with a wave sitting in a fish tank but it just didn't work until I combined it with a family vacation spot where they would also be getting some attention. (Original: 20” x 25”)

8.    Wave Diving for a Fish

Yeah but, what would they do with it afterwards? Toss it up in the air and play with it of course. (Original: 20” x 25”)

9.    Sittin' on the Dock of Bay

At age 15 I would lollygag down the street with my dog Gretel, singing at the top of my lungs my odd rendition of “dock of bay” (hopefully out of earshot). So when I walked onto this dock in Chelsea MA and felt the slow roll of the water towards the bay, I couldn't help myself. Just overlook the fact that this is the Mystic River. (Original: 20” x 25”)

10.    Wave Eroding

I love to paw through geology books looking for answers as to why things are. Somehow I prefer the answers I come up with! (Original: 20” x 25”)

11.  The family Portrait

Not having children of my own, I was compelled to fill the gaps in the family photo wall. (Original: 40” x 50”)
12.   Heatwave

True story: I was sitting in our back yard drawing this tree in preparation for the drawing. I looked up and…wow…there were the waves huddling under the tree. That's when I truly have to wonder about myself. (Original: 20” x 25”)

13. High Tide and Low Tide

A friend dropped me off at the beach, and then forgot to pick me up. It was a really long day, but a wonderful one. (Original: 40” x 50”)

14. Making Waves

What can I say. After a week on Martha's Vineyard listening to all the gossip on the beach and making up episodes of “As the Vineyard Turns”, this one just happened. (Original: 40” x 50”)

15. Waves Moguling

This is what happens when I spend more time on the slopes than on the beach. (Original: 20” x 25”)

16.  Waves of Orgasm

I attribute this one to my husband, not just because he was the one who came up with the idea, but who despite is modesty and reserve, always has one thing on his mind. I have no cause for complaint. (Original: 20” x 25”)

17.   Permanent Waves

This is my flagship, my very first wave drawing. What has tickled me about it is all the men who can't see the curlers. (Original: 40” x 50”)
18.  Waves Playing Pool

Oh did my father laugh when he saw this one. Not being one who can comprehend the vagaries of he artistic mind, I was particularly pleased with his reaction. (Original: 20” x 25”)

19.   Role Reversal

Afer many hours at the beach, the mind tends to wander. In this case, it was a good thing. (Original: 20” x 25”)
20.   Waves Rowing on the Charles

After a number of lessons and many unscheduled plunges into the Charles River, I think I will leave the rowing to the waves. (Original: 20” x 25”)

21.  Waves Diving Through a Sprinkler

If I remember correctly, I was pining to go the beach. Instead I was spending the summer repositioning the sprinkler. Boredom set in. (Original: 60” x 72”)
22.   Wave Contemplating Suicide

What can I say, it was one of those days when nothing was going right. Not even waves were cheering me up, so I couldn't cheer them up! This one was lost down the drain. Oh well. (Original: 40” x 50”)

23.  Undertow

WHAT a coincidence. I am sitting on the beach reading an old copy of “The World According to Garp” and I come across the line “beware of the undertoad”. I seized the opportunity. (Original: 40” x 50”)

24.  Waveyard

I took a cruise to Bermuda with my then 93 year old grandmother. As we sat in a restaurant near a graveyard, sipping on a Margie, I exclaimed “waveyard!” and giggled with pleasure. Grandma laughed and said good, good. To this day I don't think she really knew what I was laughing at.
